Fort Worth: Great Things Ahead

stockyardsForth Worth has long been regarded as one of Texas’ premier vacation destinations.   But the appeal of its big city lifestyle, informed by the pleasures of small-town living, also make it a favorite pick of house-hunters the world over.

And is it any wonder? Just look what the future holds for this world-class North Texan city:

The Fort Worth Zoo to Premiere “The Museum Of Living Art”.

February 2010 brings to the Fort Worth Zoo the debut of a new world class exhibit devoted mainly to those endlessly fascinating cold-blooded inhabitants of the animal kingdom – snakes, lizards, frogs, and turtles.

Have a thing for crocodiles?  Well, you just might have the chance to see one here, too. Everything is bigger in Texas – and rumor has it that this fella does nothing to detract from that well-deserved reputation.

The exciting new exhibit “represents one of the most significant showcases of cold-blooded animals at a U.S. zoo” (Ft Worth StarTelegram), and firmly places Fort Worth on the zoological map.

World-renowned wildlife mural painter David Rock has recently been added to the creative team to enhance the experience for reptiles and visitors alike.

BBQ – It’s Bigger (and Better) In Fort Worth

Ah, November – when thoughts turn to golden, falling leaves, and golden, juicy turkey.  But this year, November brings something unique to Fort Worth: (possibly) the World’s Largest Barbecue Destination.

Yes, Destination.  What else can you call a 26,000 square-foot restaurant devoted entirely to the tangy treat beloved by generations of Texans?  Its sheer size catapults this barbecue Goliath somewhere past “restaurant” and straight into culinary legend.

The Place:   Cooper’s Old-Time Pit Barbecue at the Fort Worth Stockyards.

The Lowdown:  There’s room for 550, but you may still have to wait.  Why? Well, that might have a little something to do with the choice of 13 meats.  Oh – and these meats are prepared over charcoaled mesquite rather than by the more traditional smoker method.  Mmmm.  I can smell it now!

Fort Worth is a great place to live, work, and play.  And it just keeps getting better all the time!
